POLY SEAL is a hydrophilic polymer that will expand 200/300 times its volume in fresh water (50 times in salt water). This property makes it an excellent medium for plugging fractures, cavernous formations and unconsolidated or highly permeable formations encountered in drilling operations.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES
Appearance white powder
pH 6-8
APPLICATIONS / FUNCTIONS
First Procedure: Mix the POLY SEAL directly in the tank with 200/300 times its volume in water. Wait ten minutes. Inject the mixture into the drill string. Inject a volume of water to move mixture to the correct location. Wait 20 minutes. Drill. If the fracture is large, repeat procedure.
Second Procedure: Place 1 gallon of dry POLY SEAL in a 20 liter pail of water. Allow POLY SEAL to partially swell. Add 1 liter of partially swollen POLY SEAL to the rods after the core tube has pulled. Pump down hole and replace inner tube.
