Product Description

CMC is a kind of important cellulose ether and a good water-soluble polyanionic compound obtained from chemically modified natural fibers, soluble in cold water. It has unusual and extremely valuable comprehensive physical and chemical properties such as emulsifiablity, dispersion, solid dispersion, non-perishability, physiological harmlessness, etc., and is a kind of widely-used natural polymer derivatives. The superior properties of CMC include: thickening, water retention, metabolism inert, film formability, dispersion stability, etc. It can be used as thickeners, water retention agents, binders, lubricants, emulsifiers, assistant deflocculants, tablet substrate, biological substrates and carriers of biological products

 Application:
Food: Beverage, Bakery product, Dairy product, Ice cream, Instant noodle, Meat product, Frozen desserts, Fast-dissolving food, Canned food, Dressings&Sauces, etc.
Other Industry: Ceramics, Oil drilling, Paper-making, Toothpaste, Daily-use chemical, Paint, Printing&Dyeing, Detergent, Battery, Tobacco, Personal care, etc.

 Function:
1)Thickening: CMC can produce high viscosity at low concentration. It also acts as lubricant.
2)Water retention: CMC is a water binder, helps increase shelf life of food.
3)Suspending aid: CMC acts as emulsifier and suspension stabilizer, particularly in icings to control ice crystal size.
4)Film forming: CMC can produce a film on the surface of fried food, eg. Instant noodle, and prevent absorption of excessive vegetable oil.
5)Chemical stability: CMC is resistant to heat, light, mold and commonly used chemicals.
6)Physiologically inert: CMC as a food additive has no caloric value and can not be metabolized.

Advantages
1. Odorless, tasteless and non-toxic.
2. High hygroscopicity and is soluble in water to form a thick liquid
3. It is a polyanionic electrolyte and not fermented.

4. Good heat-stability, resistance to salt and film-forming property
5. Strong emulsifier for fat and oil
Application of high viscosity CMC Food grade:
CMC is widely used in food industry, it play the roles of taste improvement, thickening and stabilization when used in various kinds of dairy drinks and seasonings. As an additive of molding, taste improvement, antifragmentation, water retaining and tenacity strengthening, CMC is also used in ice cream, bread, cake, biscuit, instant noodle and fast paste foods.
The recommended addition is 0.3-1.0%

Other application:
Textile Industry:
Due to water-solubility, film making ability and binding characteristic, CMC is being used in sizing
of yarns in warping.  Also, CMC with high viscosity levels are used in printing fabrics; either with
sodium alginate or replacing it.

Drilling Insdustry:
In oil industry, CMC is being used together with barite bentonite, and clay in order to prepare drilling muds, which helps controlling suspension, and getting out the sand in the drilling process.
Glue and Adhesive Industry:
By making use of water solubility and binding properties, CMC is used as glue for wallpaper applications, and is also used in leather industry too.
Paper Industry:
CMC is used in paper industry for binding the ingredients, and for increasing the strenght of paper.  Some purified and technical grades are also used for smoothing the surface of paper, which means better printability and quality.
Paint Industry:
It is used in paints to control the flow property of paints.
Construction Industry:
CMC can be used with plaster and cement. The main objective is to prevent early freezing; that way, it becomes quite easy to work on plaster in a longer period.
